Starting from humble beginnings in 2009 at McDonald’s Malaysia as a Marketing Executive, he rose through the ranks to lead the Marketing, Digital and Strategy & Insights departments.  Eugene transformed marketing at McDonald’s Malaysia, and rolled out many groundbreaking campaigns, including the legendary Ayam Goreng McD relaunch, which still serves as a case study for many marketers today.  In 2020, Eugene graduated from local market duties and joined the regional team overseeing 12x markets across the Asian region where he served as Regional Chief Marketing Officer for 3x years. With the success he saw in Asia helping markets navigate Covid and accelerating growth post pandemic, he was again promoted to become International Chief Marketing Officer of the IDL Segment in 2023, overseeing Marketing, Menu and Digital for 80x markets across the globe – spanning Latin America, to Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and Asia. He is a part of the next generation of modern leaders and was named Asia Pacific’s Top-50 most Influential Marketer 4 years in a row. Eugene firmly believes that every employee can contribute to business success, encouraging everyone to speak up regardless of rank; and that “No idea is a bad idea”.

In 2019 she was Featured in Adweek’s Women Trailblazers for her active mentorship and investment in over 15 companies founded by women and for her participation in the groundbreaking #biascorrect campaign aimed to correct bias and elevate the discussion of women in leadership positions. She was inducted into the Ad Age Global Leading Women Class of 2023, The List in 2024 and was selected as a juror for Spikes Asia and Mad Stars 2024.
